It's been a few weeks since I added anything for Mariners Blight. I moved my family to a new house in Dirty Jerz, 3x the size of what we lived in Philly. The same week I started a new higher paying job as a Design Director working from home and needless to say it's been hectic. The past few days things have settled down and I've had the chance to get creative (In a non-dayjob fashion) and here's the result.
My Blight Lord is essentially Abbaddon. Same stats, rules etc. But I wanted a unique look to fit the Lovecraftian Blight theme. In The Shadow over Innsmouth it was Obed Marsh who brought Dagon to Innsmouth, so it's only fitting that I honor his name by dubbing my lord "Obeddon Marsh".
The build started as Lord Zhufor from Forgeworld with a few drastic changes. I shaved off all the World Eater iconography, sculpted a new Dagon symbol on the left shoulder pad, added the anchor, gave him a tentacle, spliced Zhufor's head with a more blight appropriate one and gave him a nasty aquatic looking Daemon Sword made from a modified Tyranid bonesword. The base is a modified Secret Weapon Miniatures one with some appropriate nautical embellishments.
Great looking stuff as usual. Keep it up man, good luck on the new job as well. Throwing you a shout out on my Blogger's Best.ReplyDelete
NIce :) thanks!Delete
Absolutely gorgeous - love the tie-in to the HPL names. He's definitely got 'the Innsmouth look'! Congrats on the new house, job, and everything!ReplyDelete
He looks amazing, brilliant workReplyDelete
That is one mean looking dude. Nice work on the grenstuff shoulder icon there too.ReplyDelete
I love the anchor. That's a great touch.ReplyDelete
Your blowing my mind with the whole concept for this army. And the row boat is genius.ReplyDelete
Interesting Shoulder pad detail.ReplyDelete
What is the face from?
The face is from a zombie head sprue maxmini makes.Delete
Absolutely love this model!ReplyDelete
I cannot wait to see this project as a whole.
Thanks for the support guys!ReplyDelete
I can't wait to see the crew all together!ReplyDelete
What Mark do you plan on using? Has a Nurgle feel to me. Btw, great work. I've enjoyed the photos and reading about them.ReplyDelete
It's mixed mark army, Nurgle heavy. Obbedon is Chaos Ascendant, terms are Nurgle. Troops are Khorne and Tzeentch.
Slaanesh will fit in there somewhere before I'm done.
The Lovecraftian Dagon wouldn't fall into the 4 standard Chaos categories in my mind. :P
very nice as usual!!!ReplyDelete
