"You may say, it is impossible for a man to become like the Machine. And I would reply, that only the smallest mind strives to comprehend its limits."
I've wanted a reason to do Dark Mechanicum for a while and Warhammer 30k give me that reason. Kelbor-Hal alwasy strucka cord with me in the art books. So damn creepy with his glowing tri-eyes.
Here's some artwork depicting him.
I made Kelbor-Hal from sooo many bits I can't even keep track. Maxmini & Zinge Industries were 2 of the sources I can recall. For him and his servitors I added an extra steampunk layer with brass watch gears. The Thalaxii support are straight from the bag with SOH icons on their one shoulder to show alligience.
In the near future I'll be adding more Thalaxii, tech-thralls and basically every unit FW has made rules for.
Fantastic conversion work! Inspiring stuff!
ReplyDeleteThose are absolutely friggin' FANTASTIC. Holy cow, man I am completely blown away by your rendition of Kelbor Hal - bravo!!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding miniature! Can't wait to see it painted. All of them!
ReplyDeleteAmazing work! I love anything to do with the Mechanicus: dark or otherwise. :D
ReplyDeleteLovely! Not much else I can say but "Bravo!"
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what else you add to these Dark Mechanicum : )
Thanks Dave, I'm certainly adding all those new FW Miniatures they are releasing soon, as well as a Land Raider and a bunch of Tech-Thralls :)
DeleteI think 'awesome' sums him up nicely. Love how much you have got into him.
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough I just bought one of those arms from Zinge. He does an excellent range of pieces and the wire wrapped cables are one of my favourite things (from any company).
I love the wire wrap cables, they are so versatile. I also picked up some of the flexible resin chain, haven't used it yet though.
DeleteI've not tried the chain so i'll be interested to see how they turn out.
DeleteI've used some of the flexible resin ammo belts though, they were a revelation.
Thanks Everyone! I appreciate the feedback!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, I am personally holding out for the dark mechanicum to be fleshed out in upcoming horus heresy books - but your good work is making me long for the day
