"There are horrors beyond horrors, and this was one of those nuclei of all dreamable hideousness which the cosmos saves to blast an accursed and unhappy few."
-H.P. Lovecraft - The Shunned House
Yes, it's My 100th Post on Eye of Error! What better way to celebrate than with something truly horrible and grotesque!

That is absolutely friggin' awesome, man! I'd love to find out how you painted the squiddly parts, it turned out extremely well. As always I'm floored by the look of the weathering, it's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteSquamous! Sanity-blasting! Bravo!
BAAAAD AAAAASSSSS!
ReplyDeleteStunning. It looks incredible. Now that you have your method down, how long is it taking you to paint each model?
ReplyDeleteWell I airbrushed the whole army in batches, like all the tanks at once, then all the infantry at once, etc. The bulk airbrushing took a few hours total, then after that it took me about 3 hours per vehicle and about 4-6hrs to finish each infantry squad.
DeleteNot long at all really, but I was working hyper-efficiently.
Stunning work, simply stunning...
ReplyDeleteOutstanding, love both the weathered look of the metal and the flesh lower half.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on hitting your first hundred posts.
What they all said. I'll add that I think we need more reinvention of 40K like this, more new influences. This project is almost a whole new world.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! I've got so much more blight on the way in the next couple of weeks :)
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteThis beasty looks outstanding.
I just love the theme so much.
Definitely inspiring me to do something similar.
Coolest thing I have seen in a while. I love the harpoon, the verdigris is awesome on the metal. I love the marine themed base with rowboats getting walked/crawled over. The hatch out the back is great too. AMAZING, Just plain amazing.
